What are your thoughts on it? I got one for it's original price of $250 and now it's only going to cost $170. If you get one before the price drop you get 20 free virtual console games. If you had a 3DS during the first month they made excitebike available it was free, now it cost $6. I've also heard that the free gameboy advance games won't be available to people who don't get their 3DS before the price drop. Also, if anyone doesn't have a 3DS yet, would you get it for $250 with the free virtual console games or wait for the price drop?

As a week 1 adopter, I thought I would be more upset by something like this than I actually am. Although I don't appreciate the lack of great launch-window titles (and no, despite the amount of polish, OoT 3D is still just a port), I think Nintendo is relinquishing the fact that the original pricing was a mistake (especially now that the PS Vita is going to start at $250).
Personally, while I really like the exclusive (for a while, there's no way Nintendo is not going to end up selling 10 ports, no way) GBA games, the NES games feel like throw-aways do to their prominent inclusion on the Wii. I would have loved to see Nintendo offer the GBA games and 1 full retail title, although that would never happen.

It's funny that you say you think you would be more upset because I kind of feel the same. Normally I'd be really mad if I bought something and the price went down by $80 a few months later but I like a the virtual console. as for launch widow titles, I think Street Fighter was the only really good one. I heard Super Monkey Ball was ok and the rest of the stuff was pretty bad. As for "wave 2" of games as I call it, I heard Resident Evil was pretty good but the whole one save made people really mad. As for Oot 3D, it's just there to hold people over til the holiday season. In September I'll get my Star Fox 64 3D!

Actually Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars was said to not be too bad, if its the kind of game you're in to. I am a little upset about the price drop. 80 dollar drop for 20 games, half of which I probably won't want doesn't seem like an even trade to me. But it will be cool to have games others will never see in the foreseeable future.

I got my 3DS as a birthday gift so it's fine by me, plus maybe more people will buy them now and that will lead to more, better games being made... maybe

My first reaction was: Now I suppose I'm indifferent about it. Basically, it sucks, and maybe some of those free games won't exactly provide hours of entertainment, but they're exclusive, at least for now, and anything exclusive is pretty awesome. Plus for me, this was my first time getting a console at launch, and it was really exciting. It was also Pastime Legends' first really big midnight launch party and personally I had a lot of fun, and I think everyone who was there will agree. So those who were cautious and patiently wait until the price drops will save $80.00 and probably purchase better titles with their system, but the rest of us had a great time with it from the start, got to brag to our friends who were like "Oh my god, what is that?!" and will have exclusive stuff and feel special. I think it's an overall fair trade off.
