Source: www.industrygamers.com/news/xbox-360-games-to-be-playable-on-windows-8-rumor/"According to Insideris, Microsoft is working on providing Xbox 360 support to its upcoming OS, Windows 8. Unfortunately, the system won’t support cross-platform play between the platforms, but Xbox Live for PC would still utilize a subscription fee." Interesting - Microsoft could essentially merge PC Games for Windows Live and Xbox 360 into one platform. Potentially successful? Innovative? Or a move to counter the PS3 + Steam combo?

i think if they do this, they should do it where its just one thing. A PC that can be used to play 360 - future titles. Also, taking a PC aspect on, that could extend the life of the console if they make it upgradeable. Only with their products of course. At a fee I am sure some would consider. Although that would take a lot of time and money, but if you want to move up, just buy a piece, install it and now you can play newer "next gen" type of games without the need of a new console purchase.

nintendo already did that, it was called the Expansion Pak, granted, it didn't have a HUGE effect on things, but it increased the systems RAM from 4 to 8MB

I was meaning more in depth. I am sure Microsoft could pull it off. Instead of just memory, which means nothing if you don't have the power to back it up and put it to its use, updated video cards could work as well. You would also probably have to make the systems insides accessible and not make it so it voids your warranty. Not saying it can't or won't happen. I am sure one of these companies will try it sooner or later.
