Thanks Bushy for posting the info for me As to my gaming: Im more of a PC gamer these days. I play COD:Black Ops but come from the Battlefield series. Im hoping that BF3 is as good as BF2 was and brings me back. I do have a 360 and use that for Rock Band and some sports games.

Planning on checking out the LAN Party... P.C. games are pretty fun, but I find for some shooters, the controls are difficult.

I actually really liked Battlefield 1942 back when the Internet Cafe was near BHBL High School... I was pretty good at it, far as I remember. XD

Battlefield 1942 was pretty good... When was the Internet cafe by the high school??? I wish there was one closer to Scotia/ Schenectady! That would be awesome. Although I am happy with pastime near us.

I can't do LAN. I am much better in my own house screaming and swearing at my games alone lol. I play a lot of Rock Band myself, its usually what I am playing lol. I may have to check out one of these since I have a bit more free time now a days.

I got into LANs in 2003 I think it was. It was a bit overwhelming to me at first especially since the 1st one I went to had almost 500 people!!! But here are some of the things that got me hooked & why I not only help run a local LAN but I also attend 1-2 additional LANs a year. 1. Meeting other gamers in person. Yeah you can meet people online and even join a group or clan with them. But its very cool to actually get to meet those people in real life. Hang out, grab a bite to ear & to just have fun gaming together all weekend. My group I game with now, we attend 1 year as a group together. We have had as many as 10 of us show up to an event together. 2. Prizes, Raffles, Swag & More - Many events, including Exile, get a bunch of companies to sponsor our events. These sponsors give out a ton of stuff to be given away. It could be a sticker, a t-shirt, a game, or even some hundred + dollar computer parts. 3. No LAG - Everyone is sitting in the same room so everyone has the same connection. There are costs involved though hosting these events. Our group doesnt have a business or anything so we are only doing these events for fun. We do have to pay for everything though. The hotel, the generator for power, the servers, the switches, some prizes, etc... So we try to charge just enough to cover our costs. Trust me LANs are not cheap to run. Especially the larger they get. We do try to save our gamers a couple of bucks by offering them a pre-pay discount. As to gaming skill - We get gamers of all skill levels at these events. We run raffles & non-gaming events so everyone gets a chance to win something. There will be tournaments but there will also be a ton of open gaming as well. Oh and we will have Rock Band setup sometime during the event. Trust me
