Hello and welcome to the official Pastime Legends Message Board! This is an excellent way for us to reach out to our friends, affiliates, and customers and get them involved in the action, as well as include them in our planning for events and whatnot. We care about you guys. =D
If any of you have ever used/visited a message board or "forum" in the past, you prolly know what's coming next. For those who don't know, however, forums are usually an excellent place to voice your opinion on various topics, as well as offer suggestions on different aspects of our public scene. Now, as much fun as that sounds, there need to be rules and regulations in place so that we can all enjoy ourselves and not be bogged down by unnecessary issues or silly drama nonsense. And here they are:
Posts should stay on topic.
For example, if the board is named "Pokemon Black," posting about your opinions of Megaman X would be a bad idea, resulting in a warning and the post being deleted.
A member should not reply to a post two times in a row.
This is known as "double-posting." Things get sloppy if one member posts multiple times, and there's really no need for it since you can edit your posts at anytime anyway to add in what you either forgot or realized afterwords.
No excessive "chatspeak" or punctuation.
As efficient as it is, we would prefer not having to read messages like, "omg so awsm cuz ths tht n the othr thng lolol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" because, frankly, it's sloppy and obnoxious. Please refrain from doing so while posting.
A regular member should not assume the position of a staff member.
If members of the staff see an issue either within or throughout the forum, don't take it upon yourself to ask us to ban them or give them a warning. We appreciate the support, but ultimately it comes down to the decision of the staff.
No offensive language or behavior.
This is mostly because Pastime Legends is a place for a general audience no matter age, race, color, handicap, etc., so the forum should be treated in the same way. Also, "flaming" or "trolling" (the deliberate mistreatment or badgering of a fellow user) will not be tolerated. No pornographic or offensive material is allowed in a member's avatar or signature, as well.
Don't advertise for other businesses or websites.
As much as we enjoy being a competitive business, there's no need for links either drawing attention away from or degrading Pastime Legends. Mentioning other places is okay--for example, saying you found a game or something at GameStop--but blatant and pushy sales is not what we're about.
Spam is not allowed, either.
This includes offering hosting services (charged and free), installation services, solicitation etc. Any business proposals need to be discussed with either Joe or Emily, seeing as they're the owners.
Members of the staff reserve the right to edit or delete posts as they see fit and without warning.
Pretty self explanatory; if we see an issue, we'll deal with it accordingly.
Each violation of the rules will result with a warning, as well as a potential limitation of powers for a determined amount of time. Our policy is "three strikes, and you're out," which essentially translates to permanent banning from the forum. The staff also reserves the right to immediately ban members as we see fit, though this case is rare.
Now that you've taken the time to read this, get out there and start posting! =D
