The time is coming when these 2 monolithic games intrude our stores and tempt us to buy. Perhaps your not into the whole FPS genre....Oh well. But for those who are which game are you looking forward to more? Will you buy both?
I personally really enjoyed BF2. It took a bit to learn because I had just come off the MW2 wagon and never played BF before. I thought the objective based games were really neat, and definitely took a solid chunk of my life out. I soon reverted back to CoD once BO came out. and have since gotten rid of BF2.
After seeing what BF3 is capable of, and that MW3 looks the same as it always has, im rooting more for BF3, and think that would be my game of choice once released.
Thoughts?

My friends are on PS3, so that's where I will be.
I have yet to pick up those 2 games on my newly acquired 64. Still remember the glorious days when they came out.

My friends are on PS3, so that's where I will be. I have yet to pick up those 2 games on my newly acquired 64. Still remember the glorious days when they came out. They were pretty glorious days indeed... and imo FPS have gone downhill since then. But that's me... I can't stand CoD. I feel like gaming has become so impersonal. I remember going to my friends house, or my cousins house, or vice versa just to play those games with them. Online gaming is great for the purpose that it allows you to play with people that you wouldn't otherwise get to play with... or with a friend that has moved across the country... or further. All that being said I still prefer to be able to taunt you to your face when I take you out! Along with games becoming impersonal I think they are also being taken way too seriously. At least online games (FPS mainly). They are not the type of game that a casual gamer (which I have become due to many more responsibilities in my life) can pick up and have much if any success with.... alright I'm done complaining... bottom line is a enjoy GE/PD because if you're running around with no idea what you're doing, and you get shot... there's still a chance you can run away or at least have a chance to defend yourself... well unless your adversary has the golden gun muahahaha!

I never really like Goldeneye myself. Although I have played countless lost hours of Perfect Dark. Always lost and never knew where or what I was doing but had fun. Now a days they make the FPS games so linear and team based you cannot get lost or just run around for fun. Also, PD was pretty much a futuristic GE, almost the same layouts in most cases.

Perfect Dark improved on everything GoldenEye did... and I love Perfect Dark, but GoldenEye will always hold a special place in my heart... If you've never played through GoldenEyes single player I highly suggest it, it's challenging and fun as hell.

I liked Perfect Dark better than Goldeneye but Nightifire on the Gamecube.

Nightfire was awesome. Loved the grapple and rocket launcher combo to stalk the room corners.

Even though Nightfire was known for it's epic multiplayer, the campaign was pretty awesome and fairly challenging too. Back on topic. I hope battlefield crushes COD.

Honestly, I'm not really into the whole FPS trend that's going on right now, but I can certainly respect if for being one of the highest-selling genres on the market. That being said--and this is a serious question, too--what's the difference between the two that would make me wanna buy either one or the other? o_oa

More people seem to play CoD than Battlefield. Also CoD is a older franchise and one that seems to be generally more respected. Battlefield also has vehicle combat as opposed to Call of Duty, which doesn't. Personally, I like both franchises, and play them with friends occasionally but I don't play either series very frequently. RPGs FTW.
